«Bach-fest» and «Organum» as the Baroque music territory
The article analyzes the Baroque music festivals activity in the Ukrainian town Sumy and its shaping influence in the local musical environment. Organizing of the «Bach-fest» and «Organum» musical forums by their founder Orest Koval for many years and attraction of the artists, representing the modern European tradition of authentic reconstruction of ancient music, were promoting of the listeners to understanding of the Baroque style aesthetics. Offering the elitist art in many different ways, these festivals have brought the culture of visiting the academic music forums intensifying the city’s musical life and have become a significant factor in its formation.
