Concertos for Two Keyboards by Antonio Soler in the context of Baroque art

The article researches the features of compositional and dramaturgic decisions of Concertos for two keyboards ¹¹1–4 by A. Soler, which are classified as a new genre variety “duet concert.” The author analyses the stylistic parallels (Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, Romanticism), which are revealed itself in Soler’s music. Special attention is paid to the influence of Baroque ideas – a “game” and an “antinomy”. The types of the performing ensemble dialogue are identified in these Concertos. A. Soler’ compositions appear as a kind of art “mirror” reflecting in conventional simultaneity in “rolled-up” condition the whole cultural epoch.
